Identifying and Addressing Taiwan’s Governance Challenges

The theme of the 2022 annual conference of the Project on Taiwan in the Indo-Pacific Region at Hoover Institution was “Taiwan’s Economic Security in a Changing Global Environment.“ This conference provided a comprehensive examination of the economic dimensions of Taiwan’s national security, including trends in global trade and supply chain patterns, US-Taiwan and regional economic cooperation, and the impact of the Russian invasion of Ukraine on the global economic security environment, including energy supplies and sanctions.

Syaru Shirley Lin of the Center for Asia-Pacific Resilience and Innovation (CAPRI) spoke at the panel “Cross-Strait Relations: Balancing Economic Integration and Security Vulnerabilities“ on the topic of “Identifying and Addressing Taiwan’s Governance Challenges“ on Friday, November 11.
